That isn't even counting the local TV deals SEC teams get. Which Tech may get now. I don't know.

Also if you think adding Texas A&M isn't going to boost your TV ratings you are misinformed. If you add the Houston and Dallas Forth Worth areas to that the SEC is looking at more Money. Also the deal with ESPN has clauses that up the money paid contingent on what the Big 10 schools are making. So the ESPN deal isn't going to do anything but go up.

The money part I could care less about. I like the thought of playing the best. It seems like most Tech fans feel the same way. I guess some people won't like it whatever happens. If anything. But these super conferences are going to happen. And the schools in them will separate because they will have the most money. They will be the primetime games everyone sees and they will attract the best players.

And the current deal you just signed will be "peanuts" when all this shakes out. That is what I said. If you think otherwise it is just wishful thinking.
Like you pointed out, the money is hard to pass up. And the ACC schools that say they wouldn't leave? Of course you are going to say that in order not to burn bridges in case you're not asked. The SEC has a chance to get into the Texas market with several million TV's tuned in by adding aTm. On the flip side VA is the 12th largest state with VT the premier program right now with not only the VA market but also the DC area. The money will be there, if the SEC expands the current TV contracts will be re-worked to accomodate.

IMO, if invited, it's a self preservation for VT to go. Imagine instead of bringing Wake, NC State, BC, and Duke to Lane bringing UF, UGA, UT, LSU, or Bama. The N End Zone could be added to and VT could get to 80,000 form the current 67,000 quite easily and keep it sold out.
